GCTD's new “Late Night Safe Rides”, a shared ride, demand-response service is available to anyone over the age of 16 who requires transportation within the GCTD service area from the hours of 7PM to 12AM. The new service is intended to provide passengers an affordable and safe option during late night hours, in particular workers in fields such as hospitality and health care, who may get off from work late at night.
The service uses GCTD’s existing fleet of GO ACCESS paratransit vehicles, some of which are updated with racks to accommodate bicycles. The entire ACCESS fleet was also updated with LED dashboard lights to help passengers identify an approaching ACCESS vehicle to pick up a customer.
Wearing masks on board is optional.
Reserve 1hr - 1 day before, daily up to 11:30PM by calling 805-485-2319.
Gold Coast Transit District (GCTD) is committed to ensuring the safe transportation options while adhering to local and state public health guidelines. Passengers are encouraged to wear face masks.
After every drop off, our drivers sanitize seats and high touch areas.

This service is meant to supplement our fixed bus route service and to ensure a quick, safe and affordable ride to all members of our community in the late evening hours.
In compliance with California law, all passengers under age 8 must ride in an appropriate Child Restraint System (CRS), such as a safety seat or booster; and all passengers under age 2 must ride in an appropriate rear-facing safety seat. Caregivers must provide an appropriate safety seat and be able to install the equipment in the vehicle. Drivers can provide information about LATCH attachment points, however, they cannot assist caregivers with equipment installation.
LNSR launched services in May 2021.
This temporary demonstration service was conceived to assist essential workers in late evening travel to/from employment. However, this service is available to anyone for any purpose who need transportation late at night in our service area.
