GO Now is GCTD's new on-demand rideshare service available to anyone over the age of 14 who requires transportation within the South Oxnard GO Now service zone. The service is short local trips and uses small vehicles. The new service is intended to provide passengers an affordable, safe and convenient option that allows you to travel for quick trips around the South Oxnard neighborhood (GO Now service zone). Connections may be made to fixed routes, commuter buses, or rail services at the Oxnard Transit and Center Point Transfer Centers.

The service uses an electric vehicle and GCTD's existing fleet of paratransit vehicles, some updated with racks to accommodate bicycles.  The entire GO Now fleet was also updated with LED dashboard lights to help passengers identify an approaching GO Now vehicle to pick up a customer. 

Wearing masks on board is optional.

What is GO Now?

GO Now is a pilot ride-share project designed to operate similarly to Uber/Lyft within the South Oxnard community.

Where is Go Now Service available?

GO Now is available as a neighborhood rid-share/carpool service that allows you to travel anywhere within the South Oxnard zone. Connections may be made to fixed routes, commuter buses, or rail service at the Oxnard Transit and Center Point Transfer Centers.

What are the the service hours for GO Now?

Service operates Monday through Friday 7 AM to 7 PM.

How long are typical wait times?

Wait times may vary, especially during high-demand periods. Wait times can be as little as a few minutes to as long as 30 minutes.

How much does it cost to ride GO Now?

All riders pay the $2.00 dollar fare.

How do I pay for my GO Now ride?

To make boarding faster, you can purchase your fare in advance by downloading the Token Transit app (App Store or Google Play). Or pay with cash (exact change) when you board (operators do not carry change).

Can I track my GO Now shuttle in real-time?

Customers can monitor at any time where the vehicle is on the route by checking the smartphone app. Riders can also opt-in to receive alerts when the vehicle is approaching. Riders must be outside and on the curb ready to board the vehicle. If other passengers are on board, you may or may not be dropped off immediately after boarding. The closest pickup or drop-off assigned to the vehicle will occur next. The vehicle operator is provided with geocoded pick-up location instructions electronically by the scheduling software.

NOTE: The operator does not decide whom to pick up or drop off next, this is determined by the algorithm to best maximize efficiency and therefore the shortest route.

How do I reserve a trip?

You can download the GO Now app on the Google Play store for Android and the App Store for iOS.

Can I make a reservation a day ahead?

No. Reservations are only accepted during regular service hours the day service is needed.

How can I book a ride if I don't have a smartphone?

GCTD also accepts trip bookings by phone at (805) 485-2319 during service hours.

How old do you have to be to ride alone on GO Now?

You must be 14 years old to ride alone using the GO Now service.

Is GO Now safe?

All drivers have undergone background checks, random drug testing and wear identifiable uniforms. All our vehicles are equipped with onboard surveillance cameras.

Where does GO Now pickup when reserving a trip?

GO Now will pick up at the nearest corner or Virtual Stop. The APP will identify the nearest corner/stop for you.

How long do I have before the vehicle leaves if I am not at the pickup address/location?

The shuttle driver will not wait if the rider is not outside at the location to be picked up.

Are there transfers available using this service?

No. Transfers to other services are not available.

Can I transport my bike?

When reserving a trip, you will need to indicate you are traveling with a bike.

I am disabled and need a ride, will I be able to use the GO Now vehicle?

Yes. All GO Now vehicles are ADA accessible.

If I lose an item while I am riding GO Now, who do I call?
