Gold Coast Transit District (GCTD) will implement its biannual service changes beginning Sunday, July 19, 2026. These updates are designed to improve service reliability, enhance travel efficiency, and address increased ridership while continuing GCTD's commitment to providing safe, reliable, and convenient public transportation throughout Ventura County.
The updated schedules will remain in effect through January 2, 2027.
To help riders prepare, new printed schedules, “Bus Books,” are available now on all buses, online, and at various locations around the county. A bilingual information sheet is available inside all buses.
GCTD reviews and updates bus schedules twice each year—in January and July. Service levels are established through the annual budget process and are based on several factors, including passenger and operator feedback, long-range planning efforts, route performance, available operating and capital funding, and workforce and vehicle availability.
The following is a summary of the key schedule adjustments:
Passengers are encouraged to review the new schedules and pick up a new Bus Book beginning July 12 to ensure they are prepared for the upcoming service changes.

Rider Tools and Services
GCTD continues to expand convenient tools that make riding transit easier than ever.
Tap2Ride allows passengers to pay their fare by simply tapping a contactless credit card, debit card, prepaid card, or mobile wallet when boarding—making fare payment as easy as everyday purchases. Additional information can be found on page 89 of the new Bus Book and on GCTD’s website.
The GO Flex Rides App gives GO ACCESS and Safe Rides customers the ability to book, manage, and track trips from their smartphone or online. The app is available as a free download through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. More information is available on page 73 of the Bus Book.
Short Range Transit Plan Update
GCTD extends its appreciation to the community members who participated in outreach efforts and shared valuable feedback on the proposed service improvements for Routes 1, 6, 10, 11, and 16 as part of the District's Short Range Transit Plan.
The proposed improvements were approved by the GCTD Board of Directors in April 2026. GCTD is currently developing an implementation timeline, and additional information will be shared as plans move forward.
Riders are encouraged to stay informed by following GCTD on social media and watching for updates online, onboard buses, and at bus stops throughout the service area.
